A long and wonderful day starting with the sunrise.
I walked to Play Norte and then along its empty sand.
I made my way to my favourite Isla bakery-Dulzara. To read all about them, follow this link: https://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-mujeres-2025-restaurant-features-dulzara-bakery/
It was home for a croissant breakfast and then back to the beach.
Donna and I walked home for an amazing Yiron lunch delivery with Sue. Check out all the details here: https://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-mujeres-2025-restaurant-feature-yiron-delivery-by-sister-sue/
Then it was back to the beach with Donna.
I started saying goodbye to my neighbours Donna (a different Donna) and Jan as my time in Centro was almost up.
I had an amazing dinner at Samura with Kelly and Lorraine. The delicious details are in this blog link: https://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-mujeres-2025-restaurant-features-samura-japanese-cuisine-and-jungle-bar/ Then it was back to Centro for Carnevale. We walked a couple of laps of Hidalgo and then I stopped for wine on the Malecon with Lorraine. This was my favourite day so far on the trip.

The sunrise that morning was nothing short of spectacular.
I call this picture: “Yes I am old, but I am happy”
Took my 2nd cup of coffee to Centro beach, which I had all to myself. I loved it!
I headed home for breakfast and then back to the beach again.
I took a long and leisurely nap in the hammock. It was my only beach nap of my month long stay. I spent a lovely Happy Hour with Jan and Donna.
Baby sister Sue and I
That evening we were out to Marina Bartolomé. Their setting, right on the water by the ferry was gorgeous.
The beverages and food was stellar too. Follow this blog link for all of the details: https://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-mujeres-2025-restaurant-features-marina-bartalome-by-sister-sue/
After dinner I met up with Donna at Snappers for part of the Jets game. It was a perfect day, especially on the beach.

I knew that I would miss sunrise from the Malecon and all the Isla friends who greet me.
I had some “real” work to do that morning. I am so grateful that I can work anywhere in the world as long as there is internet.
Sue and I visited two restaurants that day. Beautiful Lupita (follow this link for all the details: https://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-mujeres-2025-restaurant-features-restaurante-lupita/
and Pizza Rock-a long time fav of ours. (See that blog link here: https://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-mujeres-2025-restaurant-feature-pizza-rock-by-sister-sue/ )
Sunrises, friends, food, family. What could be better?

I was awake a little bit later that morning and missed the first peak of the sun.
Yoghurt, mango and homemade granola made for a scrumptious breakfast bowl.
I took a morning walk to the beach and then headed home for my first afternoon nap of that trip. The humidity was low and the breeze was refreshing with all the windows open. I do love that I have three directions of windows in my little apartment. Afterwards, I had to start my day all over again with a cup of coffee and a shower. This is why I do not typically take afternoon naps. I did manage to finish another book with my coffee.
I headed back to the beach for sunset
and then met with Sue and Donna for a fabulous dinner at El Mexicano on Hidalgo. Read this blog link for all the yummy details. https://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-mujeres-2025-restaurant-feature-el-mexicana/
Can you guess from these pictures, one of the reasons that I love this restaurant so much?
The cocktails were fabulous.Look at this delectable food!
We topped off the evening with a shared slice of carrot cake at Juanita’s, with the family. Then we did one last lap of Hidalgo. A perfect Isla day.

Donna and I went shopping at Hortencia’s and Irma’s.
We walked past North Garden on the way to walk the beach.
I spied a a spinach & feta bagel and split it with Donna .
North Beach is not as lovely as my memories of it. We wound around to Centro Beach which was hot and still, so we made our way home to read in comfort.
