I wrote this in my journal that morning: “D is going to have to start waking me up when he leaves for tennis, cuz I am missing all the good stuff.”
When D arrived home, we enjoyed breakfast under the palapa.
The ocean from our front door, through the apartment and balcony.
I call this pic: “Yes I am old but I am happy”.
We spent the entire day around the pool and then hosted Richard and Melinda for “Happy Time” at our place.
We walked slowly into town. I take way more pictures at then end of our vacations, wanting to hold onto every sight.
We had packed provisions for sunset. It was a windy evening.
It was the day of our “progressive” dinner, that we do every trip. But on this evening, we weren’t particularly hungry. We did mix it up by indulging in churros for our appetizer.
We hadn’t had chilies relleno from La Lomita, yet so we shared an order. Yahoo-one of our very favourites.! We had walked so much that day that we hailed a cab for home.
Another perfect day in paradise.

Headed into town to see Kelly and Lorraine off at the ferry. Then we decided to stay in Centro for breakfast at the Loncherias.
We spent all afternoon at home. D had a 2 hour nap. He had to start his day again with a cup of tea and a stretch.
We enjoyed an early supper at Queen Macabi as they are only open until 6 pm. Follow the link here for all of the delicious details. https://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-muheres-2025-restaurant-feature-queen-macabi/
We then cabbed to Jax to see Ken W play one last time. Many of our island friends were there.
We enjoyed a beautiful sunset from Jax’s corner.
We cut through the square for a cab ride home.
There was a full moon on the water. Life is good.

That morning I awoke to unusual cloud formations and sunlight beams.
The sunrise kept getting better and better.
We wandered over to the property next to us to visit our new neighbours-Richard and Melinda!
We were home for a grilled cheese sandwich (how come everything tastes better in Mexico?) and time by the water.
D went swimming with his water shoes on to get passed the coral. He loved it! When I sent the picture, just above home to the kids, they thought D was skinny dipping in the waves. But no…he had on a beige bathing suit.
We enjoyed an amazing dinner at the Caribbean Garden.
The wonderful restaurant is owned and operated by this beautiful family. The days began passing more quickly by then.
