Trip Report Isla Mujeres 2025 Day Twenty Four

July8

How many people in the world get to savour this view from their bed? We are blessed indeed.

When we are on the island we enjoy gathering with fellow believers at church held at Jax.

The view of the beach-right across the street from Jax.

Our gang had assembled at Centro Beach, with my brother Kelly holding court. So we stopped for a visit before heading mid-island.

We arrived home for a late lunch and some writing. We also watched the news from Canada when Mark Carney won the Liberal leadership race.

Later that evening, we grabbed a cab to south end for dinner at Kin Ha. The food and ambience was another lovely surprise. Read all the details here: https://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-mujeres-2025-restaurant-feature-kin-ha/

We don’t spend much time in the south end but love it when we do. Sunsets from that side of the island never fail to delight.

Isla Mujeres 2025 Trip Report Day Twenty Three

July7

Game changer. I can watch the sunrise from bed!

D brought me flowers for International Women’s Day.

He was so bagged after tennis.

Lunch of peanut butter, tulum honey and baby bananas. Lots of pool and palapa time.

Balcony time with dear friends.

We ordered in. D and Richard waiting for our order.

Reverse sunset.

This little shrine was set up across the street from our apartment. I bet the deceased and I shared the love of something…

Our delicious dinner was cheerfully delivered. We dined under the stars. Check out the delicious details here. http://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-mujeres-2025-restaurant-features-estebans-kitchen/

The days started to count down now from that evening on.

Ricahrd joined D for a walk into Centro while Melinda, Sue and I hopped into a cab and finally visited Isla Bistro.

The space is beautifully designed

and the food is equally beautiful.

I love the neighbourhood around the rainbow stairs. I was a prize winner at a recent fundraiser and we walked to the Colonia Rubens to collect my “Jim Guy” print.

The guys joined the Dauphin gang at Isla Brewing. I had a bit of a cold so I napped and watched the sunset from my front door. On days like this I feel like a local.

Isla Mujeres 2025 Trip Report Day Twenty-One

My favourite kind of sunrise. Beam me up Scotty.

It was cooler that day so I enjoyed the time around the pool after I wrote and D played tennis.

Look to the north clear sky.

Look to the south cloudy sky.

D had a long nap that afternoon so I spent a lot of time reading on our balcony. It was perfect.

We walked over to R & Ms to pick them up and have a tour of their pool and rooftop.

At that point all 4 of us walked across the island to our friends’ Jan & Bruces. I loved this shot that I took of their little courtyard. After a quick drink, we walked across the street to Riconcito Kahlo. Read all about it by following this blog post link. https://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-mujeres-2025-restaurant-feature-rinconcito-kahlo/

Their mojitos are so good and really hit the spot. I think that I may have imbibed in more than one.

We had such a fun time with both sets of friends. We met Jan & Bruce on the island many, many years ago and have kept in touch since then. They showed us a shortcut for our walk home. Another stellar evening!

Isla Mujeres 2025 Trip Report Day Twenty

May8

That morning I allowed myself to stay in bed until the sun was up. Got some writing done while D was at tennis.

Got to know Tammy who had moved into the suite below us. Pretty low key day. The humidity was really high so I was only comfortable in the pool.

That evening, we walked directly to the other side of the island, to Bahai Del Rey which had opened on the island since our last visit. We started off by enjoying the pier

and the sunset.

The drinks were works of art

as was the food. Here is the blog link to them https://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-mujeres-2025-restaurant-feature-bahai-del-rey/

We ended the evening with a second floor tour that the manager hopes will host private events. It was a wonderful evening, made even more so with our good friends.
