Isla Mujeres 2025 Trip Report Day Twenty-One

May12

My favourite kind of sunrise. Beam me up Scotty.

It was cooler that day so I enjoyed the time around the pool after I wrote and D played tennis.

Look to the north clear sky.

Look to the south cloudy sky.

D had a long nap that afternoon so I spent a lot of time reading on our balcony. It was perfect.

We walked over to R & Ms to pick them up and have a tour of their pool and rooftop.

At that point all 4 of us walked across the island to our friends’ Jan & Bruces. I loved this shot that I took of their little courtyard. After a quick drink, we walked across the street to Riconcito Kahlo. Read all about it by following this blog post link. https://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-mujeres-2025-restaurant-feature-rinconcito-kahlo/

Their mojitos are so good and really hit the spot. I think that I may have imbibed in more than one.

We had such a fun time with both sets of friends. We met Jan & Bruce on the island many, many years ago and have kept in touch since then. They showed us a shortcut for our walk home. Another stellar evening!

That morning I allowed myself to stay in bed until the sun was up. Got some writing done while D was at tennis.

Got to know Tammy who had moved into the suite below us. Pretty low key day. The humidity was really high so I was only comfortable in the pool.

That evening, we walked directly to the other side of the island, to Bahai Del Rey which had opened on the island since our last visit. We started off by enjoying the pier

and the sunset.

The drinks were works of art

as was the food. Here is the blog link to them https://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-mujeres-2025-restaurant-feature-bahai-del-rey/

We ended the evening with a second floor tour that the manager hopes will host private events. It was a wonderful evening, made even more so with our good friends.

Isla Mujeres 2025 Trip Report Day Nineteen

May2

Sunrise went on for an extended time and I didn’t want to miss a thing so I set up my laptop on the balcony.

The beautiful floor at our corner store.
It was the last day of Carnevale.

While D was off playing tennis, I went out for some more provisions for breakfast.

It was Pancake Tuesday so D made us coconut and banana French toast with homemade donuts.

D is not only a fabulous cook, but handsome to boot! I am one lucky lady.

Richard & Melinda joined us for breakfast and then we got caught up at our place. And there was a lot to catch up on. Even though they are our best friends, they live in Toronto (we live in Winnipeg), so we only get to see each other a couple of times a year.

Parade floats went by and I caught the sunset on the other side of the island.

Dinner at Green Verde. So, so tasty. See the full restaurant feature in this link: https://foodmusings.ca/isla-mujeres/isla-mujeres-2025-restaurant-features-green-verde/

Rafael and Paula’s daughter Lulu, kept us company.

A special day because we got to spend so much time with our good and longtime friends.
