We awoke to a lovely sunrise. It was Sunday and our plans were to catch the English church service at the beautiful church across from Mango.

There turned out not to be services in English any more so we just spent some quiet time in the sanctuary

and then met the gang at Mango’s new garden area (follow link here for the details).

As soon as we walked “home”  we got a text saying that lifelong friends from another part of Canada would be on the next ferry.

So we jumped in a cab to meet them. They were hungry and thirsty, as well as being tired from an early morning flight. But they had the energy to stay in Centro for lunch so we pulled their luggage to Bally Hoo (see link here for details).

Their cab dropped us off en route to their hotel further up the airport strip.

We spent the afternoon by the sea until they rested and walked to join us for supper in Centro.

We caught this glimpse of a sunset as we walked along.

We started at Nash’s because there was another Jets game that evening. But the place was extra loud and then a jazz trio turned up to perform, so we made our escape. We knew that we were being old fogies but we couldn’t hear/see the game or hear each other.

So we made our way just further along Hidalgo to Angelo’s. We had a big feed of seafood (see details in link here).

It was the evening of the Oscar’s so we watched the last of the presentations on TV with a Spanish voice over. Many of my family and my good friends were now on the island. I was feeling very blessed.

For my last sunrise from the malecon, I was treated to a glorious display.

About 10 am my neighbour G from Luna d’Miel said that her friends had vacated “our” room so I hopped in a cab and got settled at my home for the next week.

I was able to get caught up with G and H while spending some time on our sea side patio in the sun. That day called for popcorn and beer for lunch!

Sister #3 and Dona picked me up in a cab on the way to Chedraui so I could stock up on some treats (i.e. Kahlua, wine and beer) for D who would arrive later in the day.

We were enjoying another Happy Hour at Xbulu Ha when Sister #3 was checking her email and realized she was supposed to be at a reception for the Isla Scholarship program.

Later they joined us at Abuelo’s where we had an exceptional dinner.

Word from D was that the timing of his arrival was working well so we all headed over to the ferry dock to meet him. I had bought some churros from the zocolo en route and he sure appreciated the treat. We cabbed it back to Luna D’Miel for a glass of wine by the ocean and tales from home. I felt overwhelmingly blessed to be in this place with him by my side.

I spent the entire morning in the shade under the palms of Playa Norte. The rest of our gang went to Captain Dulce’s for the day. Since it was my last day staying in Centro, I wanted to be on the beach and shopping at Hortencia’s.

I was getting pretty thirsty browsing the stores of Hidalgo so I decided to take a break and have lunch at Qubano’s (for details following this link).

After enjoying a wonderful afternoon nap, I was hungry and ready to venture out again. This time Sister #3 and I were off to Chaya & Cacao (for details and photos follow this link) which we absolutely loved! I got my things from the first week reorganized for my move to Luna d’ Miel.

Up for the sunrise from Playa Media Luna.

Got to the beach extra early. Was there until 10:30 am when all of a sudden the chair I had borrowed from XBulu Ha broke from right under me. I yelped in surprise and many beach bums came to my rescue. On the way home, I saw that there was room in North Garden so I enjoyed a late breakfast there (follow this link for details).

As soon as I arrived at the hotel the rest of my gang was heading down to the strip of North Beach that I had just vacated. Sister #3 was still not feeling well and didn’t have the strength to carry her own beach chair.

Predicting that the afternoon would be very hot on Playa Norte, I headed to Playa Sol instead (with my new beach chair in tow). I sat under a baby palm tree and enjoyed a cool and pleasant afternoon.

Come sunset time I was on Playa Sol again before Sister #3 and I ventured out to Capricci Pizza (see details in link here). Another full and lazy day.

Up at 6:30 for this beautiful sunrise and then went back to bed to read. The day proved to be an odd one for me. I had an earache and sometimes a headache. I was just very weary. Sister #3 is sick too and didn’t join the others at the beach. Originally I stayed back in case she needed anything but in the end I was glad that I stayed home to rest. It look like another glorious beach day.

I lunched on a homemade torta of salami, cheese, mayo and chips. Made my appetizer for the fiesta that evening.

The view of the sea from the party location at Casa Caribbean with lengthening shadows was beautiful.

The view of the sunset across the Bay of Cancun was exquisite and then we turned to the east

and saw the rising of the super moon!

Sister #3 and I look better than we were both feeling.

In fact J pictured here was not feeling well and lots of spouses were not able to attend because of illness too.

It was the first time that we received an invite to the Fiesta and we felt very loved and blessed to be included. Thanks Doris and Vince and everyone who brought along such scrumptious food.
