Up for another late sunrise.

D was kind of antsy after his walk to and from Centro, so we headed back into town. Our neighbours from Alberta who were returning their golf cart stopped to pick us up.

So we went and shopped at Hortencia’s for Easter dresses for our little grandaughters back home. We stopped at Ruben’s for a delicious shrimp omelette (see link here).

We visited the gang at Play Norte and then headed home as the weather was changing.

We stopped in at X Bulau Ha and then wandered down to Da Luisa for a drink on R & M’s ocean deck. D said he froze in the north wind.

We caught a glimpse on the sunset through the trees.

From R & M’s place we walked across the island to Green Verde for supper (see this link for details and photos).

It turned out to be another lovely night. We were looking forward to drinks under the stars but new neighbours were occupying “our” chairs. Overnight the wind intensified and the wind picked up the umbrella that typically was placed outside our room and plastered it against the window of the neighbours who were in our chairs. Karma? LOL I don’t actually believe in karma.

We slept in on this morning because the night before we stupidly stayed up until 1 am. As a result, it was another lazy day for me. At some point though I decided that I had to get some exercise, so I took an extra long beach walk. The first sight I cam upon was this 2 headed iguana!

The next surprise was seeing this snake slithering to the waters edge. I must have still been sick because I was seeing things!

We love to stay on this strip of beach. There are rarely any other people and there is always something new to see.

We also love that we can enjoy both sides of the island from Luna D’ Miel.

D on the other hand was raring to go. He walked to Covi in Centro to pick up some wine and then to Chedraui for beer and ice.

We were the hosts of Happy Hour that day. Missing from the picture was Dona (the picture taker) and R & M who hadn’t arrived yet. I think Sister #3 and I have our eyes shut (that is because we are getting old and sometimes need a wee nap).

We sat up on the deck outside our room that leads to the property’s plunge pool.

While the merriment continued on the east side, Dona and I snuck away to capture the sunset in the west.

At dinner time, half the gang headed back to Centro while D, R, M and I caught a cab to Topaz where we enjoyed a wonderful evening (for details and photos, please see the link here).

The night concluded with wine under the stars with my Love.

I slept through the sunrise on this morning, trying to kick some chest congestion. I felt better and better as the day went on so I did spend a bit of time in the sun.

In the evening we walked to R & M’s to pick them up on route to Chilito’s by Ruben where we enjoyed a fabulous and decadent dinner (see details and photos in this link).

R & M returned home with us for drinks on the seaside patio. Even though I was under the weather, it was a fabulous day in paradise. I have never taken so few pictures in one day since visiting for the first time in 2005. I must have been sicker than I thought.

I never get bored with the sunrises (and sunsets) on the island. We enjoyed our coffees while watching this amazing display.

We picked up R & M so they could join us at Limon for an amazing breakfast (see link here for all the details and scrumptious photos).

We often visit Joyce and Bob when we are in the neighbourhood and stopped into say hi. We cabbed home and took it easy by the ocean at Luna D’Miel for the afternoon.

Later that afternoon we walked into Centro along the sea wall to meet friends J & B at Morgan’s for a drink. They are two of many good friends that we have met over the years on Isla. Afterwards, an entire gaggle of us met at Fredy’s to eat him out of pork chops (see details of the visit here).

D had his turn running into J & M our friends from PEI. They were leaving the island the next day so we had to have one last drink with them and turned into El Patio for a a nightcap.

We awoke to a lovely sunrise. It was Sunday and our plans were to catch the English church service at the beautiful church across from Mango.

There turned out not to be services in English any more so we just spent some quiet time in the sanctuary

and then met the gang at Mango’s new garden area (follow link here for the details).

As soon as we walked “home”  we got a text saying that lifelong friends from another part of Canada would be on the next ferry.

So we jumped in a cab to meet them. They were hungry and thirsty, as well as being tired from an early morning flight. But they had the energy to stay in Centro for lunch so we pulled their luggage to Bally Hoo (see link here for details).

Their cab dropped us off en route to their hotel further up the airport strip.

We spent the afternoon by the sea until they rested and walked to join us for supper in Centro.

We caught this glimpse of a sunset as we walked along.

We started at Nash’s because there was another Jets game that evening. But the place was extra loud and then a jazz trio turned up to perform, so we made our escape. We knew that we were being old fogies but we couldn’t hear/see the game or hear each other.

So we made our way just further along Hidalgo to Angelo’s. We had a big feed of seafood (see details in link here).

It was the evening of the Oscar’s so we watched the last of the presentations on TV with a Spanish voice over. Many of my family and my good friends were now on the island. I was feeling very blessed.
